GOT ACNE, ANNOYING PIMPLES, FACE BREAKING OUT? Try this inexpensive, homemade DIY aspirin mask…
Girl! GOT ACNE, ANNOYING PIMPLES, FACE BREAKING OUT? Try this inexpensive, homemade DIY aspirin mask… (but NOT if you’re allergic to aspirin!). You’re trying to do better for your health so take control your skin too!
Ingredients:
– 5 – 8 regular aspirins (preferably without the ‘safety’ or ‘enteric’ coating)
– Bottled water (not tap)
– 1 tablespoon of honey
**If you’re allergic to aspirin – don’t use this mask!!!**
Putting it together:
First, wash your face so it’s clean (don’t add moisturizer yet).
Then…
1) Get a bowl.
2) Put 5 aspirins in.
3) Add a TINY amount of room temperature bottled water, just a few drops.
4) Use a spoon to mash the aspirin, dissolve it in the water. You want the mixture to get to a paste consistency. If it’s too thick, add a bit of water. If it’s too watery, add another aspirin.
Don’t use more than 8 regular aspirins (aspirin is a drug – it may get absorbed into your bloodstream so don’t use more in your mask than you are allowed to take in a 24 hour period!!! You don’t want to overdose… If you feel any side effects at all when you use this mask stop using it immediately).
5) Add your lovely tablespoon of honey!
6) Mix it all in and apply directly to your CLEAN face.
7) Wash the mask off after it dries (10 – 15 mins) – keep your eyes and mouth shut while you do this – you don’t want aspirin getting in there!
Dry your face, tone your skin (alcohol free toner!) and apply your moisturizer.
9) Marvel at your gorgeous, soft, soothed skin!!! Aaaah

HOW THIS MASK WORKS:
TO REDUCE REDNESS & INFLAMMATION: The aspirin is an anti-inflammatory!
TO DRY OUT THE PIMPLES: Aspirin contains acetylsalicylic acid. This is very similar to salicylic acid, the active ingredient in lots of expensive anti-acne products.
ANTIBACTERIAL: The honey is a natural antibacterial so it’ll reduce breakouts if your acne is caused by bacteria (rather than hormones). Honey is also a humectant – it helps the skin retain moisture.
CAREFUL:
Depending on how sensitive your skin is… you can use this mask once a week (maybe twice).
Don’t scrub too hard with your aspirin mix because it can act as an exfoliating scrub and you don’t want to scrub your delicate pimples!
Your aspirin face mask can make your skin more sun-sensitive so after you use it, you might want to wear sunscreen.
This mask can cause skin irritation, dryness and flaking BUT the honey helps counteract this.
And, once again, IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO ASPIRIN – DON’T — — USE THIS MASK!!!

POST-OSCAR LUPITA OATMEAL – SIMPLE RECIPE for the best BREAKFAST CEREAL to lose weight…
The best BREAKFAST CEREAL for SLIMMERS! SCROLL DOWN for my simple POST-OSCAR LUPITA OATMEAL RECIPE! Have you heard about the celebrities and weight loss gurus who swear by porridge (oatmeal) because its relatively high protein content and low fat content..? A new clinical study has found that PORRIDGE (oatmeal) can:
– Make you feel fuller than ready-to-eat breakfast cereal (e.g. Cheerios, Cornflakes, Rice Crispies, Granola etc.)
– Decrease perception of hunger
– Decrease how much you actually eat even 4 hours after eating the porridge (oatmeal).
Why might this be? The scientists from this study say that oatmeal provides a more filling form of fiber than the our regular, ready-to-eat cereals (porridge had higher B-glucan content and greater viscosity because of it’s greater molecular weight & higher concentration).
So, in a nutshell, porridge keeps you fuller for longer – fewer cravings, hunger pangs and snack attacks! And so you don’t pile on the pounds!
Here’s a recipe:
Kara’s Simple Simon Oatmeal (2 – 3 servings)
– 1 cup Old fashioned rolled oats (NOT the quick cooking kind)
– 2 1/2 cups water
– 1 banana, sliced.
– Optional extras:
— 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon and / or nutmeg and / or cardamom
— A pinch of sea salt (or try no salt! The less added salt you eat the better 🙂
1) Add your rolled oats to the pot
2) Add the water and leave the pot uncovered.
3) Take off your banana skin, slice your banana and add to the pot.
4) Turn the heat on (medium to high) and stir often so the porridge doesn’t burn & stick to the bottom of the pot. Bring the porridge to a gentle boil – you’ll see little air bubbles popping up (it’ll take about 3 – 5 minutes of cooking to get to this point).
5) Turn the heat down to a very low heat (keep stirring!) and let the porridge cook gently, simmering, for 2 – 5 minutes (depending on the texture you want, how you like your porridge…)
6) Now add your ‘optional extras’ if you want to (spices and salt) and stir in. Now your porridge is done.
7) Put your porridge in a bowl and add your TOPPINGS! Yay – delicious – this is the fun part 🙂
The possibilities are endless! You can add e.g.:
– Berries (e.g. blueberries, blackberries, strawberries)
– Other fruits e.g. grapes, chopped pineapple, mango, kiwi fruit… you name it!
– Raw nuts and / or raw seeds
