Cheryl Cole may be a millionaire but when it comes to dealing with pimples and dry skin, she’s a got a very inexpensive secret… Cheryl told a British magazine that she uses Sudocrem (a British nappy rash creme) to “draw out her spots” because “it really works”. She’s not alone. Loads of Brits now carry little tubes of this nappy cream in their bags as a secret beauty aid.
WHAT’S IN IT AND WHY DOES IT WORK?
Key ingredients of Sudocrem nappy rash cream (compare this to your diaper rash creme)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sudocrem
” —ZINC OXIDE 15.25% – astringent, soothing, protective
[LIFESTYLISTA: Lots of expensive beauty products contain zinc oxide. It brings down inflammation, dries out pimples and soothes & helps skin heal. If you’re allergic to zinc this won’t be a good choice for you though!]
— Lanolin (hypoallergenic) 4% – emollient
[LIFESTYLISTA: lanolin is moisturizing BUT some people are allergic to it. Beware!]
— Benzyl alcohol 0.39% – mild anesthetic
[LIFESTYLISTA: helps to soothe the OUCH of a painful pimple!] and disinfectant.
— Benzyl cinnamate 0.15% – antibacterial
[LIFESTYLISTA: helps to kill naughty acne causing bacteria] and antifungal.”
If you have a baby, just steal a bit of diaper rash cream when no one’s looking LOL! Think of it as a mother’s perk 🙂 And if you don’t have a baby, just BRAZENLY go to the pharmacy and ask them for diaper rash creme (with at least 15% zinc oxide and look at the other ingredients too).
Diaper rash cream is cheap, simple and easy to get… like stealing candy from a baby 🙂 [Sometimes I’m not as funny as I’d like to be – wanted to find a joke to put here but nothing’s coming 🙂
And just remember, I’m not a doctor so this isn’t a diagnosis of your particular skin condition!
I’m here rooting for you.
love,
Kara
