African-American Girl Faces Expulsion from school… Over Natural Hair

A private christian school has threatened to expel 12-year-old Vanessa Van Dyke for wearing a natural hairstyle. Apparently her hairstyle is a “distraction” and so she has been asked to straighten her hair or face being kicked out of the school she has attended since the third grade. Yep, no love for Afros in mainstream America.
